On This Day in Pink History… 7th January 2006, Pink and Carey got married
Popping the question usually conjures up images of a starry-eyed groom on bended knee against some romantic backdrop. But rebellious pop star Pink’s proposal was fittingly unconventional: the bride-to-be flagged down her motocross champion beau Carey Hart during a bike race by holding up a board that said: “Will you marry me?”. As Carey revved up for a second lap, she held up a second one which simply read: “I’m serious!”.
So when the singer tied the knot last weekend at an intimate beachside ceremony in Costa Rica, the most surprising aspect, perhaps, was just how traditionally romantic the unconventional pair could be.
Having said she planned on “being a girl and wearing a dress” on her special day, the Lady Marmalade vocalist, whose real name is Alecia Moore, was transformed from punk princess to emotional bride for the sunset service, held on the shores of the Four Seasons Resort. “We just love the beach, so we wanted it here,” she told People magazine.
Radiant in a champagne halter-neck gown, complete with fairytale tiered skirt tied with a sash at the waist, the bride made sure she included some individual twists, too, from her barefoot stroll down the aisle to Billy Joel’s She’s Always A Woman, to her platinum blonde hairstyle with bright pink highlights.
More than 100 guests, including singer Lisa Marie Presley, witnessed the nuptials, in which the bride and groom, who began dating in 2001, read heartfelt vows they’d written themselves. According to one report, a teary-eyed Pink told her husband: “I love you because I let you hold my heart and you haven’t broken it.”
“I wanted to see how creative Carey could be, and he’s always so cute when he’s nervous,” the bride explained in the wedding programme. “No, the real reason [we wrote our own vows] is: I didn’t think anyone else’s words could ever have possibly described how far we’ve come or how much we love each other. And I always like to say it my way.”
Carey, meanwhile, had a somewhat cheekier explanation: “Because I didn’t think any vows had been written that would describe how hot her ass is. Just kidding (not really).
“To listen to Alecia express her love for me and us will be heaven to my ears. And, it isn’t everyday that I get to express how I feel about her in a surrounding with all of our closest family and friends,” he concluded.
The couple swapped rings which had been made by close friend Stephen Webster; Pink and Carey had asked him to come up with a “cool and different” design that was “our kind of beautiful”. The result? Rings that say “til death” in platinum and diamonds.
Known for his daredevil motorcycle stunts, the 30-year-old groom, who, like Pink, has a tattoo which reads “Tru Luv”, is no less adventurous when it comes to showing his marital devotion: “Once we get married, I’m going to tattoo her name down my ring finger,” he promised.
For now, the couple are reportedly heading off with their four dogs on a snowboarding honeymoon. But for Carey, at least, that’s just the icing on the cake. “I’m so excited to be married to her,” he said in the run up to the wedding, “I don’t even care about the honeymoon!”

On This Day in Pink History… 13th July 2005, Pink proposed to Carey Hart
Pink met Carey Hart at the 2001 X Games in Philadelphia. She said she would never date a motocross racer… however four years later on 13th July 2005, Pink asked Carey to marry her during a Mammoth Lakes motocross race. She was assisting the race and wrote “Will you marry me? I’m serious!” on a pit board. He initially didn’t notice and continued on for another lap. When he did notice, he veered off the track and he said YES! But then Pink made him finish the race because she didn’t want to marry a loser!
They married in Costa Rica in early 2006, however, in 2008 Pink confirmed that she and Carey had separated. In April 2009, Pink stated that the couple had gone to marriage counseling and were back together – they were never divorced. In November 2010, the couple announced they were expecting their first child and on 2nd June 2011, Willow Sage Hart was born.
Carey has appeared in several of Pink’s music videos (Just Like a Pill, So What, Just Give Me a Reason and True Love), and has also travelled with her on tours. They have matching ‘Tru Luv’ tattoos, and also Carey has a several tattoos of Pink.

On This Day in #PinkHistory… 30th June 2013, True Love music video was released
According to Pink’s official Facebook page, the music video for True Love was planned to premiere on July 1, 2013. The video was leaked online on June 30, on the website Direct Lyrics; however, a few hours later the video was released to her official VEVO account, a day earlier than planned.
The video directed by Sophie Muller (who also directed videos for Trouble and I Don’t Believe You) features Pink, her husband Carey Hart and her 2-year-old daughter Willow. It is the fourth music video that Hart appears alongside P!nk. The video is a melody of flashing and swirling colors. Pink stated that she had no time for a dramatic music video, (like her previous videos for Just Give Me a Reason and Try, which show Pink’s emotional and dramatic side) due to her being on her sold-out worldwide tour, backstage footage of which is featured in the video. Lily Allen was filmed separately, and during her short part in the song she is shown cutting vegetables and throwing them into a blender.

On This Day in Pink History… 9th May 2016, Just Like Fire music video was released
The official video for Just Like Fire was directed by Dave Meyers and was released May 9, 2016, ahead of the US premiere of Alice Through the Looking Glass. The video features Pink’s husband Carey Hart and their daughter Willow. In it, Pink is observed swinging on silk ropes hung from the ceiling of a large drawing room by her husband. Her daughter, seated on a nearby fireplace mantle, watches as a blue butterfly flies into a mirror over the fireplace. Willow follows, stepping into the mirror. Shortly after, Pink swings on the ropes and leaps onto the mantle, stepping into the mirror as well. She arrives on a giant chessboard outside a castle. On the chessboard are doubles of Pink dressed as various chess pieces. The doubles circle Pink and the white queen shoves her over. She lands in a chair at a table set up for a tea party suspended in the air. Also seated around the table is the Mad Hatter and Willow. The butterfly from the beginning flies around the table as Pink sings the song’s bridge. Suddenly, she falls out of her chair and is shown falling through the sky, stopping inches off the ground in a rose garden. The Timekeeper from the film gives Willow a watch in the background. Then, Pink begins hallucinating scenes from the film, her in a straightjacket, and scene from earlier in the video. It suddenly cuts to Pink in a straightjacket, being carted away into a sanitarium while her husband signs the release papers with a female doctor.
P!nk and Carey shared some family photos with fans on Mother’s Day this year.
